Why I Don’t Always Choose Espresso Before Training or a Meeting

Espresso is easy to understand: short, fast, sharp.
You drink it — and it feels like you immediately get a push. For a morning when you need to wake up, that can work. For a short burst, too.

But not every moment needs a burst. Before training, a meeting, the road or work, sometimes you need something else: not a sharp start, but a normal transition into action. No extra rush. No feeling that someone has just pushed you in the back.

There is a difference between “waking up” and “getting collected”.

When espresso is not always the right fit

Espresso is a concentrated coffee format. It has its own logic: small volume, dense taste, quick impulse.

But there are situations where an impulse is not enough. Ahead of you is not fifteen minutes of activity, but a meeting, training, studying, the road, or several tasks in a row. Here, the point is not just to “get a boost”, but to enter a state where you can act properly.

That is why I do not always put espresso first before an important task.

So what do you choose instead of a sharp coffee kick?

I need coffee that makes it easier to get collected and move into the task.

Why this is not just “coffee stronger than espresso”

The question is not what is stronger. That is the wrong comparison.

That is why I am not saying espresso is bad. It is just not always about the right moment. Sometimes you do not need to speed up. You need to get collected.

So what is the point?

If you need a short coffee kick, espresso is in the right place.

But if there is training, a meeting, the road, work, or a day where tasks come one after another, I prefer a different format.
